Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking an Underwriter for Political Risk to help deliver strategic plans and manage a global portfolio from its Singapore team. The role emphasizes Lloyd’s market knowledge, client relationships, and regulatory adherence within a leading insurer.

The ideal candidate has substantial Political Risk and Structured Credit experience, CFA Level I familiarity, and a proactive, collaborative approach to work in a dynamic, office-based environment in Singapore.

Qualifications

  • Experience of Lloyd’s market as Underwriter or Broker is essential
  • Strong Political Risk and Structured Credit product knowledge with understanding of pricing and policy wordings
  • Passed the Chartered Financial Analyst level 1 is desired
  • Strong team working approach and able to operate independently with little direction or guidance
  • Good verbal, written and professional presence and ability to communicate at all levels with good negotiation skills
  • Assertive with a positive “can-do” approach

Responsibilities

  • To assist the Political Risk Class Underwriter/ Senior Class Underwriter/ Global Practice Leader/ Head of Division in delivering strategy and business plans.
  • To assist in managing the overall Political Risk portfolio.
  • Establishment and maintenance of strong customer/industry relationships including: Broker relationships at all levels of wholesale, local and international broking firms
  • Direct relationships with clients where necessary to support the local business teams
  • To act in accordance with all regulatory standards and principles at all times.

How You Will Create An Impact
