Job description

Underwriter (Accident and Health), Immediate vacancy

Underwrite new A&H business in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and objectives.

Liaising, advising and servicing (including rapport building) intermediaries/insureds on A&H insurance matters.

Reviewing renewal policies with claims record.

Monitor and review own portfolio to ensure profitable growth in line with company targets.

Provide guidance and coaching to junior underwriters and administrative assistants.

Provide support to Team Lead Underwriter and other underwriters as required.

Any other responsibilities as assigned by Team Lead Underwriter and/or Department Head.

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of underwriting experience in A&H insurance.
• Complete MAS-required qualifications to provide advice on insurance matters.
• Good technical knowledge of A&H underwriting factors.
• Good communication skill, tact and patience needed in handling clients for this very competitive class of business.
• Able to multi-task, and is a team player, conscientious, tactful and willing to learn new skills.
• Able to work independently and interact with different levels of customers.
