Job summary

A leading engineering firm based in Singapore is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with at least 10 years in the Oil and Gas industry, particularly focused on FPSO projects. The candidate will manage commissioning activities and must possess strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft tools. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation and testing of turbomachines and interpreting complex mechanical drawings, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical engineer in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Must have experience in FPSO projects.

Responsibilities

Job description
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

FOCUSED: 1. Pumps and Compressors
2. Commissioning activities control & test control

Engineering Design-specific requirements
  1. Expert understanding of standards and specifications for rotating equipment such as gas moto-compressors, gas turbocompressors, turbogenerators, centrifugal pumps, riser pipe sea water lift pumps, etc;
  2. Expert understanding of auxiliary systems’ design for rotating equipment;
  3. Expert understanding of rotating equipment and material procurement requirements and sizing;
  4. Expert understanding of the interfaces among Rotating Equipment and the other disciplines of Engineering design such as Process, Arrangement, Structure, Electrical, Automation, etc.;
  5. Experience in FPSO detailed engineering design.
Field Service's specific requirements
  1. Experience in service of preservation, assembly, tests, commissioning, and pre-operation of turbomachine for offshore/marine units;
  2. Expert understanding of installation, assembly, and commissioning of the turbomachine, such as gas turbines, gas compressors, Water Injection pumps, lift pumps, etc., including equipment/material incoming inspection;
  3. Reading/Interpretation of diagrams, arrangements, layouts, mechanical drawings and designs, and specifications.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering is required
  • at least 10 years experience in similar services as a Mechanical engineer or similar in the Oil and Gas industry; (5) years of work experience in the Oil and Gas or similar industries, preferably in FPSO projects
  • activities and communication software such as Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • General understanding of offshore/marine construction and interaction between the various activity categories such as structural, piping, painting, etc.
  • Knowledge of Applicable Codes and Standards, such as CS Rules, API, ASME, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to use successfully basic software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, to document
  • Must be physically and psychologically fit, and able to perform the services in a Shipyard environment, including, but not limited to confined spaces and/or locations at height. Medical confirmation of such capability shall be presented and updated from time to time.
