Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Monitoring & Post-Monitoring Alert Management
    • Manage the full lifecycle of transaction monitoring, including post‑monitoring alert management, in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
    • Ensure accurate and timely resolution of alerts in the open triggering system to mitigate financial crime risks.
  • KYC/CDD & Risk Assessment
    • Perform in‑depth client onboarding, periodic reviews, and risk assessments for Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
    • Identify potential risks in the client base and ensure comprehensive risk management through effective KYC/AML procedures.
  • Escalation & Red Flag Management
    • Identify, elevate, and investigate red flags and unusual patterns within client activity and transactions.
    • Ensure appropriate escalation protocols are followed to mitigate potential financial crime risks.
  • Quality Assurance & Policy Compliance
    • Conduct detailed quality assurance reviews to identify material findings and gaps in policy execution.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Training & Feedback
    • Provide targeted training and constructive feedback to relevant teams, ensuring material findings are effectively communicated and addressed.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning to maintain compliance standards and improve team performance.
  • Cross‑Department Coordination
    • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance requirements are met and that systems align with BRISG’s objectives.
    • Coordinate with IT and vendors during system development and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to improve compliance monitoring tools and processes.
  • Advisory Role to Line 1 of Defence
    • Act as an advisor to the first line of defence (business units), providing guidance on compliance risks and issues related to customer onboarding, transactions, and regulatory adherence.
    • Collaborate to ensure that business operations comply with regulatory standards.
  • Reporting & Data Analysis
    • Utilize advanced analytical skills in Excel to produce reports and data‑driven insights for the Compliance Department and Senior Management.
    • Summarize key findings and trends in compliance monitoring and transaction reviews, providing actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Law, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3‑5 years in a compliance, financial crime, or risk management role, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including AML, KYC, CDD, and transaction monitoring.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver training, provide feedback, and interact with cross‑functional teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify risks and discrepancies in complex data sets.
  • Vendor Management: Experience working with third‑party vendors, particularly in the development, testing, and implementation of compliance‑related systems.
