Job summary

A leading transit company in Singapore is seeking a qualified candidate for an Operations role to ensure punctual train services and manage safety compliance. The ideal candidate should have a degree or diploma with significant experience and be willing to work shifts. Responsibilities include mentoring staff, conducting risk assessments, and improving operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree in any discipline or Diploma with minimum 5 years' working experience.
  • Willing to perform shift work, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to identify colours and operate computer-based control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure punctual train services and adjust for customer needs.
  • Report equipment faults and coordinate recovery actions.
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers, staff, and contractors.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • Review and improve procedures, manuals, and instructions.
  • Mentor and train new staff at the Operations Control Centre.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Service Operations
  • - Ensure punctual train services and make adjustments to meet customer needs.
  • - Report and address equipment faults, coordinating with relevant staff for quick recovery.
  • - Manage track access and work possessions according to rules and procedures during traffic and non-traffic hours.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • - Maintain a safe environment for customers, staff, and contractors.
  • - Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • - Enforce transit rules and report non-compliance.
  • Procedures and Improvements
  • - Review, develop, and improve procedures, manuals, and local instructions.
  • - Provide feedback on train timetables and develop new ones when required.
  • Staff Training and Mentoring
  • - Mentor and train new staff during on-the-job training at the Operations Control Centre.

Perform other duties as directed by his/ her superiors.

Requirements:

  • Degree in any discipline or Diploma with minimum 5 years' working experience, preferably in an Operations Control Room environment
  • Willing to perform shift work, including night shift, weekends and Public Holidays
  • Ability to identify colours
  • Able to operate computer-based control systems
