Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore is seeking a Trading & Sales Manager for APAC. You will build relationships with customers and trading partners, identify opportunities in the precious metals market, and drive growth in minor metals like rhodium, iridium, and ruthenium.

You will coordinate with trading desks in Germany, the US, and China, travel regularly across Asia, and support recycling metal purchasing while representing GMP at industry associations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in sales, business development, trading, or account management, preferably within the precious metals, commodities, or industrial materials industry.
• Strong knowledge of precious metals markets, commodity trading, and hedging strategies.
• Ability to build and maintain customer and trading partner relationships.
• Strong business acumen and ability to identify and develop new market opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and industry events.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and trading partners while identifying new business opportunities in the precious metals market.
• A particular focus will be on expanding trading activities for minor metals, including rhodium, iridium, and ruthenium in the region.
• By leveraging market research, industry insights, and proactive outreach, including cold calling, you will identify new leads and develop channels for the purchase and sale of precious metals. In addition, you will communicate trading and hedging strategies to customers and business partners.
• Keeping up to date with market developments, industry trends, and global events will be key to recognizing opportunities and supporting informed commercial decisions.
• Working closely with the German, US and Chinese trading desks, you will coordinate activities with local sales colleagues across Asia, including Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong, to ensure a consistent market approach.
• You will also support other business units in precious metal sales and recycling metal purchasing activities, while representing the company at industry associations and events such as the SBMA.
• Regular travel to customer sites and industry events will be part of the role to strengthen relationships and expand your professional network. Throughout all activities, sensitive and confidential information must be handled with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
