The Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) unit in Equinor shall maximise corporate value creation in the mid‑and downstream business through safe, reliable and efficient operations. We are responsible for capturing the full value potential of marketed and traded crudes and oil products.
To be a commercial operator in MMP DISC COL means you will be working with oil tankers, ship owners, terminals, customers, agents etc., covering logistics and transportation of cargoes worldwide, in close co‑operation with our traders, charterers and other operational units. We perform our operations in a dynamic, global set‑up with operational teams in Norway, Singapore, UK and US.
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Based in Singapore, the commercial cargo operator is a member of the Singapore operational team being instrumental in supporting both regional and arbitrage cargoes of oil products, described as Lights Ends (Gasoline, Gasoil and Naphtha).
The cargo operator main task is to ensure efficient coordination of our loading and discharging operations related to our Light Ends cargoes, in close interaction with traders, charterers, other operators and our internal support functions and external stakeholders. This includes:
Compliance with Equinor’s policies and procedures and Shipping / Charter Party requirements.
Responsible for commercially efficient cargo operation e.g. instructions, operational and logistical planning including agent nominations, vessel clearance and documentations etc.
Responsible for proper documentation, correct and timely inputs of operation related information into relevant IT systems.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to energy transportation and flow assurance. Willingness to broaden operational scope, competencies and experiences.
Participating in the on‑call duty system within the operation team (on rotation).
Contributing to the improvement of processes and developing of best practices to support our trading strategy, advise and support other colleagues in the operations team.

Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Economics, Logistics or related disciplines.
Minimum 5‑7 years’ experience in handling cargo shipments for Light Ends, from an oil company, trading or a shipping company. Prior experience from trading operations is an advantage.
Strong knowledge and experience from oil products cargo operations, terminal requirements, STS operations etc. For this position previous experience from Naphtha operations is a requirement.
Familiar with using IT technology and IMOS voyage system is an advantage.
High ethical awareness and integrity, and with focus on safe operations and HSE.
Proactive, flexible with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Capable to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, agile and efficient working attitude.
Commercial mindset with proven track record in delivering commercial value add to the P&L.
Proficiency in English language is required; Mandarin is an advantage.
