Overview

Citi's Trade and Working Capital Loan business provides a wide range of solutions to help companies manage their global trade and working capital needs. Citi’s Trade and Working Capital business is a global leader in providing trade and working capital solutions to companies of all sizes and is organized across the following client segments: Corporate, Commodities, Correspondent Banks and Commercial Bank clients. You’ll gain comprehensive knowledge of lending products and develop expertise in structuring them.

Responsibilities

• Deal identification, origination and execution of structured trade & working capital loan products (e.g. Prepayment, Borrowing Base Finance, Commodity Finance solutions and long tenor financing)
• Primary focus on commodity financing transactions across Asia Pacific
• Drive large transactions from inception to execution by partnering with all internal partners across the bank and the clients to deliver bespoke working capital solutions
• Conduct market research, analyze competitor offerings and identify product gaps. Stay up to date on industry trends and regulations around Sustainability and Commodity Finance themes.
• Provide structuring and product expertise on complex trade finance transactions on a case-by-case basis
• Monitor and manage product performance and customer success for new and existing trade loan products
• Drive and contribute towards capital optimization and risk distribution initiatives
• Support product governance responsibilities
• Run strategic initiatives (e.g. Digitization and Commercialization of digital trade loan capabilities)
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar position is required. This is not an entry level position.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a good to have.
• Strong experience and understanding of the market, players and the suite of commodity financing structures – prepayments, borrowing base financings.
• Strong understanding of corporate lending products.
• Experience in structured finance, counterparty risk management, and legal documentation is a huge plus. This includes drafting and reviewing LMA based loan and security documents.
• Prior experience in product management and development roles in a bank or FinTech will be useful.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with broad groups of stakeholders.
