Job summary

A reputable financial institution in Singapore is looking for a Bills Officer to join their trade operations team. The successful candidate will manage processing tasks for trade finance transactions, including Letters of Credit and compliance checks. Applicants should have 1–3 years of experience in Trade Finance operations and a solid understanding of UCP600. This is a full-time, permanent position with a focus on detail and team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Trade Finance operations.
  • Solid understanding of UCP600, ISBP745, and ISP98.
  • Skilled in vetting trade documents; CDCS certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience with LC issuance processes.
  • Familiar with system enhancement initiatives, including UATs and related projects.
  • Meticulous, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills; team player.

Responsibilities

  • Handle trade finance processing tasks as an Inputter, covering various tasks.
  • Perform journal entries and assist with month-end reporting.
  • Conduct compliance checks involving sanctioned countries, vessels, and trade routes.

About the Role

Join the trade operations team of a reputable financial institution. As a Bills Officer, you will play a critical role in processing and supporting a wide range of trade finance transactions, including Letters of Credit, collections, and bank guarantees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle trade finance processing tasks as an Inputter, covering:
    • Letters of Credit (advising, amendments, readvising, transfers)
    • Inward and outward collections, disbursements, negotiations
    • Document checking, acceptance, payments, trust receipts, banker guarantees
    • Trade-related loan drawdowns and discounting
  • Perform journal entries and assist with month-end reporting
  • Conduct compliance checks involving sanctioned countries, vessels, trade routes, and counterparties
Requirements
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Trade Finance operations
  • Solid understanding of UCP600, ISBP745, and ISP98
  • Skilled in vetting trade documents; CDCS certification is an added advantage
