POSITION SUMMARY

The Trade Compliance Specialist supports the APAC Trade Compliance Manager in ensuring that Teleflex Medical’s operations across APAC adhere to customs and trade regulations. This role focuses on regional coordination, compliance monitoring, regulatory research, and process improvement initiatives rather than transactional execution. This role is on a 1-year contract.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Regional Trade Compliance Support
  • Monitor APAC countries’ import/export activities to ensure adherence to Teleflex policies and trade regulations.
  • Consolidate and review compliance-related data and reports from country operations.
  • Support regional HS classification maintenance, including updates and validation projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of regional metrics, dashboards, and compliance KPIs.
  • Support saving opportunities project.
  • Regulatory Research & Guidance
  • Research regulatory updates and maintain an up-to-date repository of APAC customs and trade compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance to country SCM and Customer Service teams on compliance questions, escalating complex issues to the Manager.
  • Support the preparation and review of FTA documentation and other trade agreement compliance activities.
  • Audit & Process Improvement
  • Assist in planning and execution of internal trade compliance audits across APAC countries.
  • Track and follow up on audit findings and corrective action plans. Participate in projects to standardize and improve trade compliance processes across the region.
  • Support development of training materials and facilitate knowledge sharing across country teams.
  • Promote compliance culture through regular communication and updates.
  • Key Relationships / Interfaces
  • Internal: Global Trade compliance, Country Supply Chain & Logistics, Global/Regional Planning, Customer Service, Regulatory Affairs/QA, Finance
  • External: Customs brokers, freight forwarders, industry associations (as directed by the Manager)
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3–5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or supply chain compliance in a regional or multi-country environment.
  • Strong understanding of HS classification, FTA rules of origin, and import/export regulatory frameworks in APAC.
  • Proficiency with MS Office/Teams; SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally across multiple countries.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
