MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Trade Analyst to support a Portfolio Manager running a multi-strategy digital assets book within a diversified fund platform. The ideal candidate will combine fundamental research depth with a quantitative mindset — someone equally comfortable building valuation frameworks and analyzing on-chain data as they are developing structured trade ideas across tokens, protocols, and derivatives.

This role sits at the intersection of macro, micro, and market structure — offering the opportunity to directly contribute to portfolio construction, idea generation, and trade execution in a rapidly evolving asset class.

Fundamental Research & Analysis
  • Conduct deep fundamental research on digital asset ecosystems, protocols, and tokenomics (Layer 1s, DeFi, infrastructure, gaming, etc.).
  • Evaluate project viability, governance, treasury dynamics, and developer activity.
  • Build and maintain coverage of major themes driving digital asset markets (e.g. L2 adoption, stablecoin flows, AI x crypto, RWAs).
Quantitative & On-Chain Analytics
  • Gather, clean, and analyze on-chain and market data using Python, SQL, or equivalent tools.
  • Develop simple valuation, liquidity, and flow models to support trade ideas and relative-value assessments.
  • Support the Portfolio Manager in monitoring position risk, PnL attribution, and factor exposures.
Trade Support & Portfolio Monitoring
  • Assist in trade idea generation, structuring, and scenario analysis.
  • Track catalysts, market events, and regulatory developments relevant to portfolio positions.
  • Maintain dashboards for performance analytics, exposure summaries, and key market metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with data providers, exchanges, and research partners to enhance information flow and data quality.
WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Essential:
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a buy-side, sell-side, or research environment (macro, EM, FX, or crypto ideal).
  • Demonstrable understanding of digital asset fundamentals, blockchain infrastructure, and key ecosystem players.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Python, Excel, and data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to interpret on-chain metrics, exchange data, and network activity into investable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to distil complex narratives into concise trade-relevant conclusions.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with on-chain data APIs (e.g. Glassnode, Dune, Nansen) or building custom analytics pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DeFi protocols, smart contract mechanics, or governance processes.
  • Background in economics, finance, computer science, or a related field.
  • Exposure to derivatives, basis trading, or yield strategies within crypto or macro contexts.
