Job summary

BOTX INNOVATION SG PTE. LTD. is seeking a Thermal Design Engineer to lead the thermal design of LiDAR and related sensor products.

You will own the full lifecycle, from concept to validation, and work with cross-functional teams to implement robust cooling solutions. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and strong heat transfer knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in electronic product thermal design.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer and cooling design for passive and active cooling.
• Experience with thermal simulation tools and thermal testing/validation; ANSYS Icepak preferred.
• Proficient in English and Chinese for communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the thermal design of LiDAR and related sensor products across the full lifecycle (design, simulation, testing, validation, troubleshooting).
• Collaborate with mechanical, hardware, materials, optics and process engineering to implement and optimize thermal solutions.
• Stay current with thermal management advances and conduct focused research to enhance product thermal performance.

Thermal Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the thermal design of LiDAR and related sensor products, covering the full product lifecycle, including thermal solution development, simulation and optimization, testing and validation, as well as troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of reliability issues.

2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, hardware, materials, optics, and process engineering, to ensure successful implementation and continuous optimization of thermal solutions.

3. Keep abreast of the latest developments and technologies in thermal management, conduct focused research on thermal-related technologies, and support the continuous enhancement of product thermal performance.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Engineering Thermophysics, Energy & Power Engineering, or a related discipline

2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in electronic product thermal design

3. Strong understanding of heat transfer fundamentals and familiarity with thermal design processes and requirements for both passive/natural cooling and active cooling products.

4. Proficient in at least one thermal simulation tool, with hands-on experience in thermal testing, measurement, and validation. Experience with ANSYS Icepak is preferred.

5. Proficient in both English and Chinese, to effectively communicate and collaborate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
