Job summary

A catering service provider in Singapore is looking for a skilled Senior Chef specializing in Indonesian and Thai cuisine. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of dishes, overseeing staff and kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience and strong knowledge of traditional cooking techniques. Weekend and public holiday work required.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Thai/Indonesian cuisine cooking in a hotel or catering company.
  • Strong knowledge of halal certification requirements and food safety protocols is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct training in English.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a wide range of Indonesian & Thai dishes with precision & authenticity - including appetizers, main courses & desserts.
  • Develop and innovate new recipes while maintaining authenticity for Catering.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of food quality, hygiene & presented beautifully at customer events.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies & maintaining equipment.
  • Train & supervise kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth & efficient workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness & organization of the kitchen, adhering to health & safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to create seasonal menus & special offerings.
Requirements
  • Preferable 2-5 years of experience in Thai/Indonesian cuisine cooking in hotel or catering company.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Thai & Indonesian cooking techniques, methods & spices.
  • Knowledge of halal certification requirements and food safety protocols is a plus.
  • Able to do bulk cooking for catering business and conduct training in English.
  • Excellent leadership & communication skills.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
