This internship role focuses on Hotwell design analysis, supporting test site layout development, and developing EDA automation solutions to improve design efficiency and reusability of test structures.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science & Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering during the internship.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Available for a 16–24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Understand Hotwell designs, test structures, and SLM macros.
• Perform Hotwell design analysis to evaluate design characteristics and support testsite development activities.
• Support layout design and development of test structures and testsite components.
• Develop/update EDA code for automation and generation of test structures using ML/AI.
• Consolidate and maintain existing code and test chip database.
• Promote design reusability concepts to improve layout development efficiency.
• Perform all activities safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Summary of Role: We are looking for an intern to perform Hotwell design analysis, support test site layout development, and develop EDA automation solutions to improve design efficiency and enhance the reusability of test structures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Understand Hotwell designs, test structures, and SLM macros.
• Perform Hotwell design analysis to evaluate design characteristics, identify optimization opportunities, and support testsite development activities.
• Support layout design and development of test structures and testsite components.
• Develop/update EDA code for automation and generation of test structures through the aid of ML/AI.
• Consolidate and maintain existing code and test chip database.
• Promote design reusability concepts to improve layout development efficiency.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

• Education – Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s in Computer Science & Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Available for a 16–24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
