Job summary

Tech Aalto Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead testing for a large-scale Application Migration to Google Cloud using a Lift & Shift approach. The role focuses on ensuring application stability, data integrity, security, performance, and business continuity during the migration.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software testing, strong GCP knowledge, and proven leadership across cross-functional teams in CI/CD pipelines, data migration, and hybrid cloud

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software testing/quality engineering.
• Proven experience managing testing for application migration or cloud transformation projects.
• Strong hands-on understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud migration concepts.
• Experience with Lift & Shift migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of non-functional testing (performance, security, resilience, latency).
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps and test automation frameworks/pipelines.
• Experience testing data migration, data integrity and integrations.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments and production validation.
• Experience coordinating large-scale testing across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong risk management, planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the cloud-specific testing strategy for functional and non-functional testing.
• Develop testing approaches for data security, migration integrity, cross-region latency, performance, resilience and auto-scaling.
• Partner with Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure and Application teams to implement automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish and manage dynamic on-demand cloud test environments to avoid bottlenecks.
• Identify and prioritize critical business workflows and risk-based testing priorities.
• Lead phased testing across lift-and-shift validation, hybrid-cloud integrations, system integration testing, regression testing and shadow production runs.
• Establish validation controls to mitigate data loss, corruption, compatibility and integration risks.
• Define test entry/exit criteria, defect management, metrics and migration readiness.
• Coordinate testing across multiple stakeholders and provide status and risk reporting.
• Support cutover, production validation and post-migration stabilization.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experiencedTest Managerto lead the testing strategy and execution for a large-scaleApplication Migration to Google Cloud (GCP)using a Lift & Shift approach. The role will focus on ensuring application stability, data integrity, security, performance,and business continuity throughout the migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the cloud-specific testing strategy, covering functional and non-functional testing requirements.
• Develop testing approaches for data security, migration integrity, cross-region latency, performance, resilience, and cloud auto-scaling.
• Partner closely with Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure and Application teams to implement automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish and manage dynamic, on-demand cloud test environments to support efficient testing and avoid infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Identify and prioritize mission-critical business workflows and define risk-based testing priorities.
• Lead phased testing across lift-and-shift validation, hybrid-cloud integrations, system integration testing, regression testing and shadow production runs.
• Establish validation controls to identify and mitigate data loss, data corruption, application compatibility and integration risks.
• Define test entry/exit criteria, defect management processes, test metrics and readiness criteria for migration waves.
• Coordinate testing across multiple technology and business stakeholders and provide regular status, risk and readiness reporting.
• Support cutover, production validation and post-migration stabilization activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software testing/quality engineering, including significant experience in a Test Manager or Test Lead role.
• Proven experience managing testing for application migration or cloud transformation projects.
• Strong hands-on understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)and cloud migration concepts.
• Experience with Lift & Shift / rehostingmigration projects.
• Strong knowledge of non-functional testing, including performance, security, resilience, scalability and latency testing.
• Experience working with CI/CD, DevOps and test automation frameworks/pipelines.
• Experience testing data migration, data integrity and application-to-application integrations.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environmentsand production validation / shadow testing.
• Experience managing large-scale testing activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong risk management, planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• GCP certification such as Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect or equivalent.
• Experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments such as Banking, Financial Services, Insurance or Telecommunications.
