Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the key link between customers, workshop teams, and testing departments, ensuring instructions are accurately translated into internal work instructions.
  • Manage test planning and internal communication to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret and translate customer instructions into clear internal work instructions, aligning with quotations, specifications, and referenced standards.
  • Provide technical input to the Sales Administration Department for accurate scoping of quotations and work orders.
  • Liaise with customers to clarify test requirements, provide technical advice, and address queries on sample preparation, testing methods, and turnaround times.
  • Coordinate job scheduling between Workshop and Test Departments, ensuring timely prioritization and readiness of samples.
  • Support process improvements by reviewing SOPs and contributing to training and development initiatives for junior staff and workshop teams.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant laboratory experience under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
  • Strong understanding of metallic materials, alloy specifications, and chemical compositions (steel, stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, aluminum, titanium).
  • Knowledge of welding processes, consumables, and material properties in industrial applications.
  • Strong technical foundation in materials engineering and analytical testing techniques.
  • Advantage: Certifications such as CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or PCN Level 2 in Visual Inspection.
