As a Test and Commissioning Engineer (ATC), you will play a key role in the delivery and validation of rail signaling systems. You will be responsible for testing, integrating, and commissioning ATC systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient train operations in line with project, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the design, installation, and systems integration teams to bring state-of-the-art rail automation technologies to life across major transit projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and document testing and commissioning activities for ATC subsystems such as Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS).
- Perform functional and system integration tests for onboard and wayside ATC equipment according to the organization’s procedures and project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test procedures, checklists, test reports, and non-conformance records.
- Conduct site and system acceptance tests (SAT, SIT, SSIT) and support final commissioning and handover to the client.
- Verify interfaces between ATC, interlocking, and communication systems, ensuring correct operation across subsystems.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning phases.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards and rail operational requirements.
- Provide technical support during warranty and maintenance phases as required.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including system design, installation, and operations for smooth project delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent).
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in testing, commissioning, or maintenance of rail signaling and ATC systems.
- Hands‑on experience in CBTC or conventional signaling systems (e.g., Trainguard MT, SICAS/SINET, WESTRACE, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Sound understanding of Automatic Train Control principles (ATP/ATO/ATS).
- Familiarity with CENELEC standards (EN 50126/8/9), system safety requirements, and configuration control processes.
- Proficiency in using test and diagnostic tools for system verification.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently under tight schedules.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Willingness to work in a site‑based environment, including night shifts or track possession hours when necessary.
