Job summary

voco Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic Technician to join our Engineering team. You will ensure routine maintenance is performed so equipment runs efficiently and hotel facilities are well maintained to satisfy guests.

Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience with NTC certificates is required; fresh graduates are welcome. Hotel experience is an added advantage as you contribute to safety and quality across the property.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant maintenance experience in hospitality or similar environment.
• At least 1 year of hands-on maintenance experience; fresh graduates welcome.
• Hotel/engineering experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative and curative maintenance on hotel equipment.
• Order, monitor fuels, lubricants and parts as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe plant rooms and work areas.
• Assist with implementing preventative maintenance and repair logs.
• Attend to repairs across hotel facilities, including guest areas.
• Record daily service work and costs; communicate status to supervisor.
• Follow OH&S policies and ensure safe operation of equipment.

Your day to day

voco® Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic and passionate Technician to be part of the Engineering family. As a Technician, you will ensure that routine maintenance is performed in order for the Hotel's equipment to be operated with maximum efficiency and Hotel's facilities are well maintained, to achieve customer and guest satisfaction.

• Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
• Order and monitor fuels, lubricants and repair parts.
• Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms.
• Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department.
• Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions / extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel.
• Assist with the implementation of the hotel’s preventative maintenance system and repair log system.
• Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment.
• Conduct and/or participate in staff meeting regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of equipment.
• Inform superior of the status of repairs and pending costs and indicate when it would be reasonable to consider replacement.
• Record daily service work, including maintaining individual replacement costs along with time/task labour hours cost.
• Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment.
• Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Chief Engineer or Asst. Engineer.
• Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines.
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.

What we need from you

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience with related NTC certificates (equivalent to Nitec certification).
• You have minimum 1 years working experience.
• Fresh graduate is welcome too.
• Hotel experience will be an added advantage.
