Job Summary
The Workshop Technician reports to the Operations Manager and performs critical testing, repair, and troubleshooting of flight control actuations to ensure product safety and customer satisfaction while optimizing repair efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing, repair, and troubleshooting of flight control actuation systems to ensure safety and compliance with customer requirements
- Monitor and control shop processes to maintain operational efficiency and quality standards
- Implement safety management practices and apply human factors principles to minimize risks in the workshop
- Accurately document technical data and input information into company systems for traceability and reporting
- Perform preventive maintenance on workshop equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repair processes and reduce costs
- Analyze technical problems promptly to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Apply critical thinking to develop innovative solutions and process improvements for complex issues
- Maintain high attention to detail by identifying and addressing technical discrepancies and quality concerns
- Utilize numerical skills to perform statistical and data analysis supporting quality control and process optimization
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively in writing and verbally to diverse audiences, including internal teams and external stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively within the operations team and coordinate with other departments, suppliers, and customers to achieve operational goals
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or NITEC in Aerospace, Aviation Science, or Engineering discipline
- Aviation industry experience preferred
- Possession of aviation regulatory certifications is a plus
