About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Technical Writer to join our Government Digital Services team at GovTech. This is not your typical writing role — we are looking for a developer, tech enthusiast, or someone with a strong technical foundation who can transform complex concepts into clear, engaging, and user-centric documentation.

You will be part of the Product Management team driving the Smart Nation vision, helping government agencies adopt the Singapore Government Tech Stack (SGTS) and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC). Our mission: to accelerate digital transformation with secure, agile, and modern IT infrastructure built on DevSecOps, Microservices, Kubernetes, PaaS, and more.

If you enjoy working with emerging tech, building high-impact content, and collaborating with cross-functional teams — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a wide range of technical content including product guides, code samples, tutorials, demos, blogs, and design specs.

  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, digestible documentation for different audiences (developers, stakeholders, end users).

  • Lead pilots to experiment with content types and formats to improve product adoption.

  • Define and support the content strategy across SGTS and GCC initiatives.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to align messaging and documentation.

  • Continuously improve and refresh existing documentation for accuracy and usability.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and bring in content best practices.

Products You’ll Support

  • SHIP-HATS – CI/CD platform

  • Container Stack – Containerization technologies

  • StackOps – Observability and monitoring stack

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Communications, or related fields.

  • 2–5 years of experience in the IT industry; candidates with 10+ years may be considered for a senior position.

  • Strong writing and communication skills with a sharp eye for clarity and structure.

  • Proven ability to document APIs, infrastructure tools, and developer workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in software development or systems engineering.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and observability platforms.

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms.

  • Creative skills in video content, visual design, or graphic tools are a plus.

  • Experience maintaining personal blogs, GitHub repos, or published articles is a bonus.

Career Path Opportunities

  • Transition into a Product Manager role within SGTS.

  • Evolve into a Tech Evangelist representing GovTech at local and international developer communities.
