• Support cybersecurity measures to safeguard broadcast systems and ensure secure field operations.
• Support Location Units and OB Systems with ongoing learning and shift duties.

Job description

Purpose:

The Trainee Engineer will rotate across the two units within Production Support to gain hands-on experience and provide technical support in:

1. TV Studios Support

2. Outdoor Broadcast Support

Relevant training and on-the-job guidance will be provided. The candidate should be hands-on and have a keen interest in developing a career in broadcast engineering.

Scope of Responsibilities:

1. TV Studios Support

• Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for studio production and the Parliament House broadcast system.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, following technical instructions and standard procedures, while learning on the job to maintain reliable operations for live broadcasts and productions in TV Studios and Parliament House.

• Assist in the setup and provision of technical support for production facilities during major event coverage and live broadcast operations.

• Support the management and enforcement of cybersecurity measures across broadcast systems to ensure secure and resilient operations.

2. Outdoor Broadcast Support

• Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for Location Units and Outdoor Broadcast (OB) Systems, including OB Vans.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, adhering to technical instructions and standard operating procedures, while developing technical expertise through on-the-job learning in maintaining Location Units and OB systems for live broadcasts and productions.

• Assist in the setup and technical support of production facilities for major event coverage and remote broadcast operations.

• Support the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity measures to safeguard broadcast systems and ensure secure, resilient field operations.

Qualification

• Degree in Electronic, Electrical Engineering or Information Engineering & Media or Computer Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.

• Hands-on engineer with a keen interest in broadcast engineering. Prior broadcast experience is not required, as relevant training will be provided.
