Designation: Technical Trainee (TV Studios & Outdoor Broadcast Support)

Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Engineer shall be rotated to provide technical support and work in the 2 units in Production Support:

i. TV Studios Support

ii. Outdoor Broadcast Support

The Scope:

The Engineer is expected:

i. TV Studios Support

  • Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for studio production and the Parliament House broadcast system.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, following technical instructions and standard procedures, while learning on the job to maintain reliable operations for live broadcasts and productions in TV Studios and Parliament House.
  • Assist in the setup and provision of technical support for production facilities during major event coverage and live broadcast operations.
  • Support the management and enforcement of cybersecurity measures across broadcast systems to ensure secure and resilient operations.

ii. Outdoor Broadcast Support

  • Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for Location Units and Outdoor Broadcast (OB) Systems, including OB Vans.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, adhering to technical instructions and standard operating procedures, while developing technical expertise through on-the-job learning in maintaining Location Units and OB systems for live broadcasts and productions.
  • Assist in the setup and technical support of production facilities for major event coverage and remote broadcast operations.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity measures to safeguard broadcast systems and ensure secure, resilient field operations.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or Information Engineering & Media or Computer Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Hands-on Engineer with interest in broadcast engineering
  • Knowledge in IT and computer network
  • Proficient in written and communication skills
  • A team player who is able to work independently and is prepared to perform shift duties
