Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure vessels maintain compliance with all Classification Society, Flag State, Port State, Oil Major, and statutory regulations.
  • Execute, monitor, and improve the planned maintenance system (PMS) and ensure timely maintenance.
  • Approve, coordinate, and monitor vessel repairs, prepare purchase and work orders.
  • Prepare dry‑docking and repair specifications; oversee dry‑dock progress, cost, and quality.
  • Prepare, control, and report on technical budgets to meet operational standards and owner requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; close out findings and reports.
  • Attend all inspections and audits conducted by Class, Flag, Port State, Underwriters, and Oil Majors.
  • Collaborate with the Crew Department to coordinate crew technical matters and support training needs.
Requirements
  • COC Class 1 (Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency)
  • Chief Engineer sailing experience on chemical, product, or crude tankers with reputable operators.
  • Minimum 2.5 years’ onshore superintendent experience managing ME‑C/MEGI engines on tanker vessels, with a stable work record.
  • Proven track record in tanker drydock projects, including preparation and supervision.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Class, Flag State, and Oil Major requirements; proficient in written and spoken Chinese.
