Job description
Purpose

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for engaging with end-users by providing technical support through on-site demonstrations, roadshows and industry events contributing to the growth of SBD Singapore. Additionally this role involves developing new channel partners in growth verticals such as Automotive, Aerospace, MRO, Construction and Oil & Gas. The position will also act as the eyes and ears on the ground providing feedback on growth opportunities to the Product Development team.

Major Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Relationship Building
  • Identify customer needs and propose relevant solutions using our products.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations and technical discussions to address customer queries.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to build long‑term customer relationships.
  • Build relationships with key channel partners and end‑users to gather market insights and incorporate their feedback into marketing strategies and product development.
Sales and Technical Support
  • Provide technical expertise and collaborate with the sales team to prepare proposals and close sales.
  • Collaborate with the local sales team, Asia Product Management and Asia Marketing teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Develop new channel partners in potential growth verticals.
Training and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the Asia Training Manager to train customers and partners on product usage, benefits and applications.
  • Partner with Asia Marketing to develop content for marketing collaterals.
Feedback and Development
  • Provide customer feedback to the Product Development team and help identify growth opportunities.
Operational and Administrative Tasks
  • Maintain records of customer interactions, sales activities and progress reports.
  • Review demand forecasts with the Demand Planner and sales team to ensure the supply chain provides sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Experiences: 3‑5 years experience in Technical Sales / Business Development role.
  • Power tools or relevant industry experience is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proven ability to understand complex technical products and explain them in simple clear terms.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to synthesize analysis and draw actionable conclusions.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to multi‑task, prioritise and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Effective communication and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse functions.
    • High proficiency in MS Office and PowerBI.
    • Valid Class 3 driving licence.
