Job summary

A marine services company based in Singapore is seeking a skilled procurement professional to support their business strategy. The role requires evaluating suppliers, optimizing costs, and ensuring quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience, along with strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Fluency in Mandarin is essential for liaising with Chinese suppliers, and experience with vessel services is preferred. Job description
  • Support overall procurement and business strategy set by OSM / Technical Purchasing Management
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure availability of items and ensure smooth operation onboard the company's managed assets.
  • Identify alternative source of materials for obsolete requirements and ensure quality is at standard specification.
  • Evaluate and improve supplier selection taking into account total landed cost mindset: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to ensure vessel daily running costs at minimum level without jeopardizing the operation.
  • Identify possible areas for improvement to reduce cost (e payment terms, incoterms, delivery cost etc)
  • Ensure recommendation of best offer through careful analysis of supplier quotations in consideration of purchase priority, trading pattern, incoterms, currency trade
  • Proactively and independently identify possible process and logistical optimization whilst keeping a vigilant eye on the overall process flow.
  • Evaluate and decide on mode of transportation taking into account Total Landed Cost: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to help maintain vessel daily running costs at minimum level and rig up-time to the maximum.
  • Identify opportunities of optimizing the warehouse process
  • Responsible for timely and consistent handling and follow-up on requisitions and invoices in cooperation with suppliers, local agents and vessels.
  • Ensure all orders are placed bearing the 5 R’s in mind – Right product, Right quantity, Right place, Right time and Right price.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Preferably graduate of any Bachelor’s Degree, economics, technical or logistic
