A leading energy provider in Singapore is looking for a Maintenance Technician to conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot plant equipment. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a background in the power plant or oil and gas industry. Duties include supervising maintenance processes, responding to breakdowns, and conducting training for technicians. This role is suited for candidates with 0-3 years of experience and relevant safety certifications.
Your Role:
1. Conduct preventive maintenance safely and effectively to achieve higher plant efficiency reliability and availability.
Arrange necessary consumables, special tools and equipment in preparation for the maintenance activities.
Prepare Work Order in requisition of Permit-To-Work before performing plant overhaul.
Carry out preventive maintenance such as routine and planned overhauls & inspections and other condition monitoring activities for balance of plant equipment such as CW intake & outfall structures, culverts, band screens, CW pumps, electro chlorination plants, water treatment plants, diesel and fuel oil storage tanks, day oil tanks, air compressors and receivers, etc.
Supervise contract workers to ensure works carried out complying with contract specifications.
Perform gas free check for confined space and hot work.
Serve as authorised confined space assessor / supervisor.
Serve as authorised lifting supervisor during crane operation.
Assist in verifying and recording clearance measurement, dimension check and NDT check, etc.
Work as a team with Engineers in updating of the maintenance record.
Assist in boroscopic inspection of specific equipment.
2. Respond to breakdown maintenance and trouble shooting of the plant equipment
Respond to the breakdown maintenance without delay.
Take part in the trouble shooting and rectification of the breakdown component.
Perform test run or recalibration of reinstated component after fault rectification.
3. Procurement of minor spares and consumables to support maintenance activity and ensure minimal disruption to plant operation.
Participate in identifying necessary consumables required for maintenance.
Liaise with suppliers for verification of component specifications.
Inspect and ensure items delivered are of correct specifications.
4. Conduct OJT training to enhance plant awareness and to raise competency level of technicians.
Acquire qualification as OJT Instructor for the station.
Generate OJT blue print and conduct training for Technicians.
Create work instruction to standardise maintenance work procedure.
Your Profile:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 0-3 years of experience in power plant, marine or oil and gas industry
Courses in workplace safety, confined space, lifting supervisor accredited by MOM
