Job summary

A leading energy provider in Singapore is seeking a Technical Officer to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems. The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in Electrical Engineering and possess skills in troubleshooting control equipment and managing site works with contractors. This role involves monitoring performance, conducting tests, and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
  • Understanding of operational part of the process control equipment.
  • Able to analyze and troubleshoot PLC faults.
  • Ability to carry out intermediate maintenance without guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of I&C equipment.
  • Supervise contractors in site works involving I&C field equipment.
  • Identify failed equipment for rectification.
  • Monitor performance of process control loops.
  • Witness acceptance tests for new equipment.

Job description
Technical Officer (Instrumentation & Control)

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of I&C field equipment /control system on area of in–charge

Carry out overhaul program of the generating unit for I&C field equipment and control system

Interlock testing of Boiler, Turbine, HRSG, BOP and Generator after overhaul

Supervise contractors in site works involving I&C field equipment

Key activities such as

  • Identify failed equipment for rectification
  • Responsible for the maintenance of process control equipment
  • Monitoring performance of process control loop, field equipment in the plants
  • Witnessing of acceptance tests of new equipment with senior officer
  • Data entry and up keeping of maintenance activities
  • Drafting and updating of plant control drawing when necessary
  • Troubleshoot and repair of process control equipment
  • Carry out toolbox meeting for contractor
  • Requisition of PTW
  • Requisition of store materials required for maintenance
  • Carry out OT user review, OT system patch update, antimalware update, OT system capacity review, OT system inventory review

Your profile:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Understanding basic operation principles of Combined Cycle Plant
  • Understanding basic cybersecurity of OT system
  • Understanding of operational part of the process control equipment such as: Controller, Data gateway, Input/out module, Operator workstation, Engineering Workstation
  • Able to read schematic drawing, P&ID, Interlock circuit, Function block diagram
  • Able to calibrate and troubleshoot control equipment, PC based systems
  • Able to carry out intermediate level of routine, preventive and breakdown maintenance without guidance
  • Able to analyse and troubleshoot PLC fault
  • Able to use and navigate engineering tools
