Job purpose
The Technical Manager for Purus’ Gas Division will assist to oversee all technical and operational aspects of our gas fleet. This includes ship management, newbuilding supervision, technical project delivery, and operational excellence. The role will ensure that vessels are operated safely, efficiently, and in line with Purus’ commitment to innovation and decarbonization. The position carries overall responsibility for operational performance, safety, technical integrity, and cost efficiency across the division, while maintaining close collaboration with customers, shipyards, and third-party managers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
- Assist on ship management activities for the gas fleet, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Provide support to Newbuilding team about supervision, conversions, and technical project
management, including weekly progress discussions with shipyards and contractors.
- Serve as deputy Head of Operations for the Gas Division, driving operational excellence and
performance.
- Manage and evaluate third-party technical managers, ensuring compliance with Purus standards and
objectives.
- Monitor and control OPEX, ensuring cost efficiency and budget alignment.
- Foster strong relationships with charterers and customers, ensuring operational reliability and service
excellence.
- Actively participate in tenders, contract negotiations, and long-term planning to support commercial
growth.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and environmental performance.
- Represent Purus with industry stakeholders, promoting technical expertise and operational leadership.
- Support newbuilding team with spec review, speed -cons calculation and commercial team for tender.

Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical and operational expertise in gas shipping (LNG, MGC, VLEC).
- Proven experience in ship management, newbuilding, and technical project delivery.
- Deep understanding of maritime safety regulations, class/flag requirements, and industry best practices.
- Financial and budgetary management skills, with a track record of OPEX control.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, including experience with charterers, shipyards, and third-party managers.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term performance with long-term goals.
- Familiarity with decarbonization technologies and energy transition solutions in shipping is an advantage.
