Overview
Experienced Technical Lead to provide technical leadership and oversight for Day 2 service operations. The role will focus on ensuring operational stability, continuous improvement, and alignment with enterprise architectural standards. This position requires a blend of hands‑on expertise in cloud and data centre infrastructure, strong governance and compliance awareness, and the ability to mentor technical teams while collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Day 2 Operations
- Provide leadership and guidance for ongoing support and service operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience.
- Act as a key escalation point for critical incidents, problem management, and complex technical challenges.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams across multiple service areas (cloud, infrastructure, security).
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
- Architect, design, and maintain secure and scalable cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, hybrid) that align with compliance, governance, and performance standards.
- Drive implementation, maintenance, and operations of solution platforms, ensuring they meet business and security requirements.
- Support migration projects (on‑prem to cloud, physical to virtual) and optimize hybrid infrastructure performance.
Governance, Compliance & Security
- Establish, review, and refine governance frameworks and policies for cloud usage.
- Support vulnerability assessments, remediation, and platform security hardening across environments.
- Ensure operational processes, SOPs, and documentation align with compliance and audit requirements.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new tools/technologies to improve efficiency, resilience, and cost effectiveness.
- Lead initiatives to enhance service delivery, streamline operations, and adopt cloud best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years in IT infrastructure, data centre operations, cloud/hybrid platforms, and service management; with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Cloud Expertise: Proven experience with AWS and/or Azure, including cloud governance, automation (e.g., Ansible), and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Infrastructure & Virtualization: Strong background in VMware, Hyper‑V, storage (DAS, NAS, SAN), and networking (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, DMZ).
- Security & Compliance: Knowledge of IT governance, security frameworks, vulnerability management, and audit processes.
- Leadership & Management: Skilled in incident management, BAU operations, project planning, vendor management, and SLA adherence.
- Technical Skills: Hands‑on experience in Linux/Windows server management, backup/recovery solutions, and migrations (P2V, cloud).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and ability to lead and mentor high‑performing teams.
