Our client is looking for an experienced Tech Lead (Mobile & Backend) to join the Singapore‑based digital team. This is a hands‑on leadership role that combines technical architecture, team management, and solution delivery across both backend and mobile platforms. You’ll play a key part in modernizing systems, improving scalability and performance, and leading an engineering team.

Location: Ubi / Paya Lebar area

Work setup: On‑site 5 days/week

Key Responsibilities

As the Tech Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving technical design and implementation across backend and mobile projects. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams including product, UX, QA, and data to deliver secure, high‑performing, and scalable digital products.

• Lead system architecture, design reviews, and ensure code quality across backend and mobile domains.
• Assess and enhance existing systems to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Implement data‑centric architectures that support personalization, analytics, and near real‑time data usage.
• Manage and mentor a team of 10–12 engineers, establishing engineering standards and encouraging best practices.
• Partner with product, design, and QA teams to align technical outcomes with business goals.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and release processes, ensuring reliable delivery cycles.
• Maintain strong system reliability, security, and uptime through proactive monitoring and optimisation.
• Advise management on technology strategy, tools, and frameworks to support modernisation goals.
• Coordinate with regional and overseas technical partners to ensure successful integration and delivery.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of total software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership capacity.
• Proven experience with backend development using .NET and familiarity with mobile app development using Flutter/Dart.
• Hands‑on experience in AWS cloud architecture, including microservices, containerisation (Docker), Terraform, and databases.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, event‑driven architectures, and database design for analytics and real‑time processing.
• Strong coding skills with the ability to review and improve complex codebases.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Fastlane.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, balancing technical execution with strategic vision.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, product‑driven environment within a global organization.
