Job summary

The Housing & Development Board is seeking a hands-on Construction Quality Engineer to oversee building works across architectural, structural and M&E aspects, ensuring flats meet quality standards from site checks to handover.

You will be trained on procedures, perform in-process quality and safety checks, and carry out handover inspections. You will also manage post-construction feedback and improvements. The position is a 1+1 year contract with potential renewal or conversion.

[What the role is]

You will be part of the team overseeing building works across architectural, structural, and M&E aspects. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full construction cycle, from in-progress site checks to final handover inspections, ensuring that completed flats meet HDB's quality standards.

[What you will be working on]

• You will be trained on good construction practices, work procedures, and quality standards to build a strong foundation in construction management.
• You will conduct in-process quality, site safety, and housekeeping checks to ensure compliance with specifications and safety requirements.
• You will carry out handover inspections for newly completed flats and final inspections to verify workmanship before properties are taken over.
• You will handle post-construction feedback and manage improvement works arising from these.

• A background in Engineering, Building, or a related discipline.
• Meticulous and able to work independently, with an eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership.

The successful candidate will be offered a 1+1 year contract. Subject to the department's needs and the individual's performance, there may be opportunities for contract renewal or conversion to a permanent position.
