Job summary

Keywords Studios Asia is seeking an experienced Technical Designer for a six‑month, on‑site contract at our Singapore studio. You will design and implement complex gameplay systems, write scripts, and create technical design documentation for an exciting AAA project.

Ideal candidates have published AAA titles, proficiency in C#, Lua, or visual scripting, and strong programming fundamentals. Collaboration with engineering, art, and other teams is essential to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience with Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines.
• 1+ published AAA titles in a technical design capacity.
• Proficient in gameplay and mission scripting tools and languages (e.g. C#, Lua, visual scripting).
• Effective aptitude in basic programming principles.
• Confident in implementing low-fidelity prototypes to prove ideas.
• Strong ability to communicate technically in written and verbal forms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and iterate on complex gameplay systems and content.
• Write gameplay scripts to implement game content and prototype designs.
• Write and maintain technical design documentation for gameplay systems and content.
• Communicate with engineering, art, and other disciplines to produce implementation plans.
• Deconstruct broad specifications into actionable tasks for designers, engineers, TDs, and artists.
• Drive and follow‑up on production of features to meet deadlines.
• Conduct regular playtesting sessions to gather feedback and inform iterations.
• Polish the gameplay experience for quality and accessibility.
