Job summary

Unravel Carbon is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to lead a growing data team in Singapore. You will own the end-to-end data platform, maintain the Carbon Database, and build pipelines that deliver clean data to stakeholders and customers.

You will work closely with ML engineers, software engineers, and sustainability experts to ship data products that drive strategic decisions. Strong Python/SQL skills and cloud/data warehouse experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering or software engineering roles in tech or data-centric businesses.
• Proven track record shipping data engineering solutions to production.
• Experience in Python as primary language and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and curiosity.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and communicate across functions.
• Familiar with AWS, GCP or Azure and Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery; experience with non-relational databases is a bonus.
• Interest in AI and building agents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data platform stack including analytical databases, orchestration, dashboards and automations.
• Maintain proprietary Carbon Database powering emissions estimates engine.
• Design, implement and maintain data pipelines from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain data warehouse and storage systems for high-quality data.
• Develop data quality checks and monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and sustainability teams to provide clean data.
• Lead and mentor a small data engineering team.
• Stay updated with latest data engineering technologies and internal AI automations.
