Job description

Position: Team Leader / Shift Supervisor (Terminal Operations)

Location: Sakra

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (7:30am – 7:30pm / 7:30pm – 7:30am)

Salary Range: Up to S$6,500 (Basic)

Allowances:

Monthly Fixed Shift Allowance – S$1,050

Management Allowance – S$200

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in troubleshooting, investigations, and resolving operational incidents and abnormalities.

  • Act as Site Main Controller (SMC) for emergencies during after-office hours until Operations or Terminal Manager arrives.

  • Oversee process control, recovery operations, and emergency response efforts.

  • Drive reduction of ship-shore variance and manage the Terminal Inventory Management System.

  • Coordinate plant turnaround, planned maintenance, and daily permit-to-work processes.

  • Ensure operational compliance with VF standards, SHEQ, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Manage manpower scheduling, workflow planning, and inter-department communication to ensure smooth and safe operations.

  • Lead shift briefings and communicate key operational objectives to the team.

  • Support audits (customer, ISO, safety, THA, and regulatory) and ensure full compliance.

  • Manage relationships with internal and external customers, addressing inquiries, complaints, and expectations promptly.

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, performance reviews, and competency assessments.

  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and support ACE programs as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) trainer.

  • Supervise, motivate, and develop staff to build a cohesive, high-performing operations team.

  • Support talent development and succession planning within the operations department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in terminal operations within a similar industry.

  • At least 3 years of supervisory or team coordination experience.

  • Strong understanding of terminal operations, product handling, and equipment.

  • In-depth knowledge of SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) practices and local regulations.

  • Trained or familiar with Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), Working at Height, and Permit-to-Work systems.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
