National University of Singapore invites applications for a Teaching Assistant, Data Science to support delivery of programmes in Data Science Practice at NUS-ISS. You will work with lecturers to prepare teaching materials, run workshops and assist with assessments.

You will also manage datasets, code notebooks, cloud environments, and supervise capstone projects while providing operational support for smooth learning delivery.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of industry experience in data science, AI, analytics, or software development.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using AI tools for development and productivity.
• Strong data prep, visualization, ML concepts and familiarity with common data science tools/platforms.
• Ability to read, test and troubleshoot code and environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms and learning management systems is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Assist lecturers in developing and preparing teaching and assessment materials.
• Prepare, test and maintain datasets, code notebooks and technical environments for course delivery.
• Support workshop sessions and assist students with programming and technical questions.
• Assist with marking assignments and maintain assessment records per grading rubrics.
• Manage course materials, announcements, submissions and student records on the LMS.
• Coordinate capstone projects and internship activities, including allocation, progress tracking and assessments.
• Monitor cloud platforms, AI tool credits and software environments used for teaching.
• Provide admin and operational support to ensure smooth delivery of programmes.

Short Description

NUS-ISS is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the delivery of programmes in Data Science Practice.

In this role, you will work closely with lecturers to prepare of teaching and assessment materials, facilitate workshop sessions, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate course schedules, manage learning platforms and support with capstone projects and internship activities. You will also provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of teaching and learning activities.

• Prepare, test and maintain datasets, code, notebooks and technical environments required for course delivery.


• Support workshop sessions, providing assistance to students on programming and technical queries.


• Assist with marking assignments and maintaining assessment records based on approved grading rubrics.


• Manage course materials, announcements, submissions and student records on the Learning Management System (LMS).


• Coordinate and support capstone projects and internship activities, including project allocation, progress tracking, presentations and assessments administration.


• Monitor the use of cloud platforms, software environments and AI tool credits to support teaching activities.


• Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes and related academic activities.


• Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the teaching team or programme management.

What Makes You Shine

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Software engineering or a related discipline. A relevant Master’s degree is preferred.


• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, AI, Analytics, software development or a related field.


• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience leveraging AI Tools for solution development and productivity enhancement.


• Strong understanding of data preparation, data visualisation, machine learning concepts and commonly used data science tools and platforms.


• Ability to read, test and troubleshoot code and technical environments.


• Experience with cloud platforms, generative AI tools or Learning Management Systems is an advantage.


• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with teaching and administrative teams.
