Job summary

Dover Court International School (DCIS) Singapore is seeking compassionate Teaching Assistants to join Pathway 2, supporting students aged 8–11 with additional and complex learning needs. The role involves working closely with classroom teachers to enable access to learning, develop independence and achieve individual goals within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Experience with neurodivergent learners is preferred, and applicants must have the right to work in Singapore.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to support learning in English and Math.
  • Regular participation in professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning inside and outside the classroom.

  • Assist teachers with assessment and record keeping.
  • Be involved in school trips and extra-curricular activities.
  • Foster professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • Undertake routine tasks and prepare class materials to support individual learners.

Job description

Pathway 2 & 3 TAs will work closely with their classroom teacher and Pathway Leader to support students. They will provide additional supervision of students, small group and 1 to 1 interventions and support where needed.

Learning and Teaching
  • Support learning and teaching inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work with small groups, extending their learning based on individual targets and formative assessment as directed by teacher.
  • Assist class teacher in assessment and record keeping as directed.
  • Be involved with school trips and extra-curricular activities.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with all children, colleagues, parents and the wider community.
Planning and Preparation
  • Undertake routine tasks and supervisory as required.
  • Assist teachers with preparation of class materials to support the individual needs of specific learners.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of school Safeguarding policy and will follow the appropriate reporting procedure.

  • Be aware of and follow our Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring student well-being is our highest priority.
  • Carefully observe students and actively supervise and participate during break duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
Professional and Personal Development
  • Maintain professional standards including punctuality and attendance.
  • Participate in all TA professional development, prioritizing PD related to supporting neurodivergent learners and students with additional or complex needs.
  • Continual development through the identification and implementation of your annual performance management review targets.
  • Be able to reflect on practice and identify next steps including sources of support.
Other
  • Compliance with visa requirements for working in Singapore.
  • Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent for countries lived in outside of the UK.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Experience of working with neurodiverse children and children with a range of different and often complex needs
  • Knowledge of the English National Curriculum

Primary Teaching Assistant - Pathway 2

Dover Court International School (DCIS) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our Pathway 2 provision, supporting students between 8-11 years old with additional and complex learning needs. Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with neurodivergent children and/or students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), along with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Applicants must already hold the appropriate visa and right to work in Singapore.
