About the Role:

Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking an inspirational Teacher of Physics (and Mathematics) to join our expanding school community from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the Senior School’s Science and Mathematics provision as Brighton College (Singapore) grows from a first-class Prep School into one of the region’s leading all-through schools, offering education from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.


What you will be doing:


  • Deliver high-quality Physics and Mathematics lessons across the Senior School, ensuring all pupils are engaged, challenged and supported to make excellent progress.

  • Take responsibility for the teaching, progress and attainment of timetabled pupils in Years 7 to 12 from August 2026, extending this responsibility to Year 13 as the school grows.

  • Teach and support pupils preparing for IGCSE Physics and Mathematics (starting with the new Year 11 cohort in August 2026) and A-level Physics (starting with the new Year 12 cohort in August 2026).

  • Provide academic guidance for Sixth Form pupils interested in pursuing Physics, Engineering, or related degrees at leading universities.

  • Contribute to a rich and varied co-curricular STEM programme, offering opportunities for pupils to extend their scientific understanding through clubs, competitions and enrichment activities.

  • Support and help organise STEM events, Olympiads, and academic competitions for Senior School pupils, coordinating with Prep School staff where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the assessment, tracking and reporting of pupil progress in Physics and.

  • Demonstrate the experience and ability to teach Physics across Key Stages 3–5, and Mathematics across Key Stages 3-4, adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils of all abilities.

  • Act as an outstanding classroom practitioner, modelling excellent teaching, high expectations and a passion for scientific and mathematical learning.

  • Promote excellence, curiosity and innovation in all areas of the Physics and Mathematics curriculum.

  • Work closely with the Head of Science and Head of Mathematics, and the Heads of EAL and AEN, to develop tailored pathways for pupils requiring additional support.

  • Contribute to the school’s pastoral system and act as a tutor for a Senior School year group.

  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

  • Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision, and values.


Who we are looking for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, with PGCE or equivalent.

  • Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering Physics GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-levels (essential).

  • Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering Mathematics at Key Stage 3 (essential) and GCSEs/IGCSEs (preferred).

  • International school experience (preferred).

  • An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environments.
