Job summary

Stamford American International School in Singapore is seeking a Teacher (Japanese Speaking) for the Middle/High School to design and deliver IB MYP/DP, AP, BTEC and Stamford course programs. You will engage a diverse student population and support holistic development, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.

The role requires teaching Japanese Language & Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition, with 3+ years of Grade 6–12 experience and IB/AP program experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent is required.
• Professional current teacher licensure or certification is required.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Ability to teach Japanese Language & Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition.
• At least 3 years of experience teaching Grade 6-12.
• IBMYP/IBDP/AP program experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Proficiency with school systems, databases and educational technology.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to teach Middle and High School Japanese Language & Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition
• At least 3 years of experience teaching Grade 6 - 12 students
• At least 3 years of relevant program (IBMYP/IBDP/AP) experience preferred
• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Excellent references on request
• Proficiency in using school systems and databases, communications platforms, and educational technology

Candidate preferences

• International school teaching experience preferred
• Advisory/pastoral experience preferred
