Job Summary

NorthLight School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to inspire and empower students through creative expression. This role is ideal for educators who believe in the transformative power of the arts and are committed to nurturing the potential of students with diverse learning needs. As an Art Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping character, building confidence, and fostering creativity in a supportive and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate students’ interest and passion in Art by creating a safe and engaging learning space.
  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate Art lessons that integrate visual arts, design principles, and social-emotional learning, aligned with NorthLight’s structured syllabus.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials and resources that cater for differentiated instructions to facilitate effective lesson delivery.
  • Evaluate students’ progress and development of skills by providing regular feedback to students, and parents where necessary.
  • Work closely with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning and contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote student well-being and holistic development.
Personal Competencies, Experiences and Qualifications
  • Certification in Art Education or a Diploma/Degree with a major in Art is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or instructional experience
  • Able to conduct lessons in drawing, painting, design and 3D sculpture
  • Strong commitment to nurturing students’ self-esteem, resilience, and personal growth through the arts.
  • Experienced in differentiated teaching approaches and classroom management tailored to teenagers with diverse learning profiles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Open to feedback and continuous learning, with a growth mindset and a collaborative spirit.
