The Role

Oil Brokerage is seeking a Tanker Market Analystto join the Shipping Research team in Singapore. The analyst will provides insights and data-driven recommendations that influence trading and investment decisions of freight traders, oil traders, ship owners and commercial managers.

The successful candidate will be a graduate from a top-tier university with strong academics. A major in Economics, Math, Engineering, or a pure science will set you up for a strong start.

We invite applications from early career professionals and fresh graduates, with or without experience in shipping or oil and gas.

Responsibilities

• Track and interpret freight and oil markets and macroeconomic developments
• Monitor and report on key events with their impact on tanker markets
• Analyse, model and visualise insights from data to fill regular and ad-hoc research requests from brokers and clients
• Prepare presentations and analysis for regular reports
• Own daily, weekly and monthly market reports as required
• Present to clients and at industry peers locally and internationally
• Learn, maintain and develop forecasting tools and models

Desired skills

• Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word to an expert level
• Good at writing and presenting
• Familiarity with statistical forecasting
• Accuracy and attention to detail

Nice to haves

• SQL, Power BI, Python
• Familiarity with Bloomberg or Eikon
