Job summary

Glints in Singapore is seeking a Production Editor to develop and refine content in collaboration with authors, ensuring accuracy and alignment with syllabus points. You will coordinate all stages of book production, liaising with authors, designers and freelancers, while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.

The role requires a Tamil language degree and strong people skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively across teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Tamil Language (up to university level) or related degree.
• Excellent people skills and ability to manage strong personalities.
• Able to meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Candidates with knowledge of the Singapore education system will have an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop content with the author to ensure optimal quality and accuracy of publications.
• Content edit manuscripts and ensure syllabus points are covered.
• Copy edit manuscripts and proofs to ensure content is suitable for end-users and that content flow is presented in the correct sequence.
• Coordinate all aspects of book production, from manuscripts to printed books, including liaising with authors, designers, illustrators, and/or freelancers.
• Ensure timely delivery of content by monitoring schedules and ensuring that timelines are met.
• Prepare artwork briefs and photo-sourcing and obtain permission for the use of copyright materials.
• Proofread and check content at all stages.
• Plan and update production schedules based on given/estimated milestones.
• Ensure planned expenses(photographs & artworks) fall within a set budget
