We are seeking a Systems Engineer (Linux & Infrastructure) to install, configure, maintain, and support mission-critical backend infrastructure and enterprise systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for system implementation, hardening, administration, troubleshooting, and service continuity planning across Windows and Linux environments. This role requires strong expertise in server configuration, security hardening, system recovery, and infrastructure support, with exposure to security and surveillance systems being advantageous.
Install, test, implement, and maintain backend systems in accordance with technical specifications and service level requirements.
Manage system changes through established change management processes, including impact assessment, approvals, implementation, and stakeholder communication.
Conduct root cause analysis for system incidents and implement preventive measures to enhance system reliability and stability.
Develop, maintain, and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, customers, and stakeholders on backend infrastructure and system-related matters.
Configure, administer, and support Windows and Linux server environments.
Perform security hardening and compliance activities based on industry best practices and organizational standards.
Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health, proactively addressing risks and issues.
Perform routine computer and network maintenance activities.
Support troubleshooting activities across infrastructure, systems, and network environments.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure secure, stable, and optimized backend operations.
NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or backend systems engineering.
Experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server environments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Hands-on experience configuring and administering Linux and Windows Servers.
Experience performing CIS hardening and implementing security best practices on server environments.
Linux server backup and recovery using REAR (Relax-and-Recover).
Experience with system installation, configuration, testing, and implementation.
Knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, and service continuity planning.
Experience with change management, incident management, and root cause analysis processes.
Understanding of network fundamentals, including server connectivity, troubleshooting, and basic infrastructure support.
Experience performing routine system maintenance, monitoring, and operational support.
Knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure and troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience supporting PSIM (Physical Security Information Management) platforms.
Exposure to CCTV surveillance systems, video management systems, and related infrastructure.
Experience with access control, alarm, and intrusion detection systems.
Knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure and troubleshooting methodologies.
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and server security best practices.
Scripting and automation experience using Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools.
