Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a System Administrator to sustain a signal distribution system used by software development and operations teams. The role covers bare-metal servers, VMs, on-prem Kubernetes hosting, and cloud services.

You will patch, harden security, manage PKI, deploy new servers, and support both development and operational environments. Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years’ related experience preferred; regular uptime and secure configurations are essential.

Lockheed Martin Space seeks a System Administrator for its Sunnyvale, CA location to join our team for Echelon 2 (E2) sustainment of a signal distribution system. The operational system utilizes a variety of systems, including bare-metal servers, VMs, On-prem Kubernetes hosting services, and cloud-hosted services. Along with sustainment, we continue the active development of new capabilities and recaps of existing systems and are looking for candidates who can support the design and development of our future systems.

• Supports Software development teams by building and maintaining development environments and workstations
• Support troubleshooting of both development and operational systems to fault-isolate issues and collaborate with software and network team to develop solutions
• Responsible for all server hardware and operating systems across both physical and virtual systems including the cloud. Maintains operational systems including patching, security hardening, PKI infrastructure, and build/deployment of new servers for upgrades and recaps.

Successful candidates usually hold a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of directly related professional experience.
