Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or another related Engineering discipline.
- Applicants with postgraduate qualifications and/or more than 5 years of relevant experience in related technology domains may be considered for senior positions.
- At least 3 years of relevant networking experience for Engineer / Lead Engineer roles, and at least 8 years for Principal Engineer positions in a suitably sized enterprise environment.
- Fresh graduates without working experience may also be considered for entry-level roles.
Skills and Experience
Candidates should have:
- Strong understanding in one or more of the following areas: Deployment and maintenance of large-scale front-end sensors, collaboration with multiple stakeholders for on-site deployment verification, solid understanding of system and network integration, infrastructure construction to support ICT equipment (e.g. structures, electrical systems, network installation, wireless transmission, etc.), cybersecurity in edge sensor integration.
- Knowledge of video surveillance technology, including transmission systems, data storage, and data security, will be an added advantage.
- Experience in critical operations environments is beneficial.
- Strong planning and project management skills, with excellent facilitation and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated interest in technology and innovation.
- Competent, self-motivated, proactive, and responsible, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Secondary Accountabilities
Depending on suitability, the candidate may be tasked with one or more of the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate with external partners to enhance existing or new sensor systems through augmented analytics.
- Optimize sensor deployments to minimise duplication using data engineering techniques.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of acquired data by applying sound cybersecurity practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors with backend applications and interface effectively with AI and data engineering teams.
- Collaborate across multiple organisations to maximise synergies through an integrated approach.
- Simplify technical concepts for presentation and effectively engage stakeholders and senior management.
- Stay updated on technological advancements in sensors, data analytics, architecture refinement, and evolving industry standards and best practices.
