Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Monitoring
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including system updates, patches, and backups.
- Continuously monitor system performance and health to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Ensure all IT systems and infrastructure operate efficiently and securely.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Respond promptly to system-related issues and outages.
- Provide technical assistance to end-users and IT team members.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard systems and data.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Manage and maintain backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop, update, and regularly test disaster recovery (DR) plans.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and maintenance activities.
- Generate and analyze performance reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work with IT teams to refine and implement operational best practices.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with IT team members to support ongoing IT projects and initiatives.
- Communicate system status, maintenance updates, and issues to stakeholders effectively.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in IT systems maintenance or a similar role.
- Proven track record in supporting and maintaining complex IT infrastructures.
- Proficiency with Windows Server and/or Linux platforms (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, KVM, or HCI).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols.
- Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and data management concepts.
- Scripting ability using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
