Overview
Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a System Engineer:
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and support physical servers to ensure optimal availability, stability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues across hardware, operating systems, virtualization, and networking layers.
- Manage and maintain SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage systems, Disk Witness configurations, and failover clusters.
- Review and assess existing infrastructure for performance optimization, sustainability, and lifecycle planning.
- Propose and design server architectures, sizing, and specifications to support application workloads effectively.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to application teams on infrastructure design and constraints.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams on system design, deployment, and integration strategies.
- Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including failover clustering and Always-On availability groups.
- Prepare and maintain infrastructure documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), architecture diagrams, and disaster recovery plans.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in systems or infrastructure engineering, preferably in data centre environments.
- Strong technical knowledge in the following areas: Physical servers, SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage, and Disk Witness configuration, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, Failover clustering, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability design, Microsoft SQL Server administration and clustering.
- Experience working on large-scale or government-related IT projects will be an advantage.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CAT 1 security clearance.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with IM8 compliance, GCC environments, or product development is a plus.
Additional Information
- Salary: SGD 56.25/hour
- Working Location: On-site (as required by project scope)
- Working Hours: 5 hours per month (weekdays); additional hours may be required subject to project needs and mutual agreement.
- Other Information: 6 months Contract
