About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Systems Engineer to support and deliver mission-critical backend systems that integrate with front-end devices and engineering/OT environments.
This role suits candidates who enjoy working close to production systems, take ownership of system stability and security, and are comfortable operating in regulated or high-availability environments.
You will be involved across the full system lifecycle — from requirements gathering and implementation to operations, security hardening, and incident resolution.
Mon to Fri Office hours (24X 7 support standby required)
1 Year Project Renewable under Agency's Payroll

- Install, configure, test, and implement backend systems, including Operating Systems and application software, in line with technical specifications, SLAs, and industry best practices.
- Perform system administration activities to ensure optimal performance, stability, and security.
- Manage system changes through a formal change management process, including impact assessment, approval coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for system issues and implement preventive and corrective measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide expert technical guidance to customers, project teams, and Level 1 engineers, including troubleshooting and integration with Front-End Devices.
- Participate in backend system hardening, security acceptance activities, and vulnerability assessment/testing (experience preferred).
- Engage with external vendors, partners, and end users to support system delivery and issue resolution.
- Gather business and application requirements to plan, design, and implement systems that meet customer commitments.
- Proactively monitor system performance and availability, taking corrective actions to improve service levels.
- Respond to incidents promptly, provide timely status updates, and deliver temporary or permanent resolutions.
- Implement service continuity measures, including backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Create and maintain clear, accurate system documentation covering implementation, configuration, and operations.
- Participate in 24×7 standby/on-call rotation to support critical systems.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in engineering or infrastructure project implementation.
- Hands-on experience in system administration, monitoring, performance tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI layers, TCP/IP).
- Experience working in structured, change-controlled environments.
- Exposure to backend system hardening, security acceptance, or vulnerability remediation is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and perseverance in resolving issues.
- Willingness to be stationed at client facilities or on-site as required.
