Key Responsibilities
System Implementation & Support
- Deploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure and application components for customer solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment or production issues, collaborating with software engineers where needed.
- Operate effectively in secure environments while adhering to all site and system security protocols.
- Conduct root cause analyses through structured testing and controlled environments.
- Manage incidents and service requests proactively with timely updates and clear communication.
- Participate in standby and on‑call rotations, including occasional after‑hours support.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with customers and partners through clear communication and technical credibility.
- Focus on customer success by understanding needs, resolving issues, and delivering measurable value.
Testing & Validation
- Support and execute acceptance testing with customers or stakeholders.
- Log, track, and investigate defects to ensure deployed solutions meet project and operational requirements.
Engineering Processes & Collaboration
- Continuously seek improvements in deployment and support processes, introducing automation where possible.
- Produce accurate, high‑quality technical documentation (e.g., Statements of Work, Incident Reports, User Guides).
- Share expertise with teammates through documentation and knowledge sessions.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on deployments, issue resolution, and service enhancement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a deep understanding of system logic.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts (OSI & TCP/IP models) and experience with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux (RHEL/AlmaLinux)—Linux expertise preferred.
- Experience with system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Ability to automate manual processes using scripting or configuration tools.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with developers, partners, and customers.
- Comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
Desirable Skills & Growth Areas
Experience or interest in:
- Supporting large‑scale data platforms and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres, MariaDB).
- Working with directory services (LDAP, Active Directory) and network equipment (Cisco, Dell, Arista).
- Distributed systems: Hadoop, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, HBase.
- Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm.
- Automation tools: Ansible, Foreman, Puppet.
- Scripting and programming: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
- Database query languages: T‑SQL, PL/SQL.
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Nagios.
- Familiarity with ITIL, software development fundamentals, and collaboration tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, SharePoint).
