Job summary

Singlife is seeking a hands-on Cloud CoE Lead to head the Cloud Centre of Excellence. You will lead AWS and OCI operations, oversee CloudOps, DBA, and architecture teams, and drive reliability, security, and cost optimization across multi-cloud platforms.

The role combines deep technical leadership with AI-driven innovation to transform cloud operations and engineering. A senior, multi-cloud expert with leadership experience is essential.

About the role:

We’re looking for a Cloud CoE Lead to lead our Cloud Centre of Excellence and lead the teams that keep our multi-cloud platform running, resilient, and future-ready. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who is genuinely deep on AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enjoys leading engineering teams from the front, and is excited about applying AI to transform how cloud operations and engineering are done.

You’ll manage our Cloud Operations, Database Administration (DBA), and Cloud architecture and engineering teams — owning the day-to-day reliability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency of our cloud platforms, while mentoring and growing a high-performing engineering team.

Responsibilities:

Lead the Technology (AWS & OCI SME)

• Be the technical authority across AWS and OCI — landing zones, networking, security, resilience, and disaster recovery.
• Lead architecture and design decisions, reviews, and complex troubleshooting hands-on.
• Set engineering standards, Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and reusable patterns.
• Oversee CloudOps and SRE for production environments across all cloud landing zones.
• Drive operational excellence — proactive monitoring, incident/problem/change management, patching, and deployment.
• Champion reliability engineering practices such as SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, chaos engineering, and observability.

Own the Database Platform (DBA)

• Lead the DBA team managing databases across AWS and OCI (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and cloud-native services).
• Ensure data integrity, security, performance, and reliable backup, restore, and migration delivery.

Drive Governance, Security & FinOps

• Maintain cloud governance, guardrails, and compliance in partnership with Security and Risk teams.
• Lead FinOps practices — cost monitoring, optimization, budgeting, and forecasting across clouds.

Innovate with AI

• Apply Generative and Agentic AI to improve incident triage, root-cause analysis, automation, and engineering productivity.
• Implement AI-powered observability, predictive operations, and automated remediation.
• Support scalable, governed platforms for AI/ML and GenAI workloads.

Lead & Grow the Team

• Manage, coach, and develop the CloudOps, DBA, and Cloud Architecture & Engineering teams, including offshore and partner resources.
• Set goals, manage performance, and build technical capability across the function.
• Coordinate day-to-day delivery, escalations, and vendor relationships.

Requirements:

• 12+ years in cloud, infrastructure, and platform engineering, with proven experience managing technical teams.
• Deep, hands-on SME expertise across AWS and OCI at enterprise scale.
• Experience leading Cloud Operations, DBA, and/or -Cloud Architecture & Engineering -type teams.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI to cloud operations and engineering.
• Strong foundation in cloud security, governance, and cost optimization (FinOps).
• Excellent people-leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience in a regulated industry (Financial Services, Insurance, Banking, or Telco) is an advantage.
