Job summary

SINGAPORE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN (SUTD) in Singapore seeks a Sustainability Program Manager (Contract) to develop corporate strategies ensuring the Sustainability Plan objectives are met, and to drive practices aligned with SG Green Plan goals. You will collaborate with university leaders and community to reduce the campus carbon footprint.

You will promote the university’s philosophy to internal and external audiences through strong presentations in English and Chinese, and work

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in sustainability operations.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead teams.
  • Strong presentation skills in English and Chinese.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or Ecology-related disciplines.

What You Will Do

  • Develop Corporate Strategies to ensure that SUTD Sustainability Plan objectives are met
  • Ensure SUTD practices environmentally friendly behaviors, processes and meets SG Green Plan goals
  • Collaborate with SUTD leaders and community to drive Sustainability Strategies to reduce the university’s carbon footprint

Who We Are Looking For

While certain concepts are central to sustainability, the specific tools and skills a sustainability manager may use in their job vary depending on their responsibilities.

Skills in following areas:

  • Driving technical sustainability programs to impact and achieve SUTD’s Net Zero goals
  • Knowledge in calculating carbon footprint, assessing and interpreting social, ecological, and business-related information relating to Sustainability reporting
  • Able to solve complex business problems by practicing systems thinking, or design thinking which involves analyzing whole systems by understanding how component parts interact and impact one another
  • Effective communication and leadership skills in leading teams, proposing initiatives, building awareness, organizing events, and generating buy-in and enthusiasm within the organization

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in sustainability operations
  • Critical and Creative Problems Solving skills, ideally Design Thinking skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills (in English and Chinese) that convert data to compelling presentations as the role involves delivering presentations to counterparts in these languages.
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or Ecology Related degrees
